Caring for your
Dashwood Dog Kit
BIOTHANE KIT:
· IMPORTANT! After a trip to the beach/exposure to salt water, remove the collar ASAP and wash it thoroughly with fresh water paying particular attention to the metal parts then pat dry. Failure to do this so is likely to result in the metal elements rusting and we will not be held responsible for any rusting caused by salt water. Please note hardware may dull wear over time. Pat dry with a towel after a wet walk.
· For a general clean, wipe with a damp cloth, or wash in the sink with warm water and mild detergent and rub any mucky bits with a cloth or an old soft toothbrush. Rinse well and pat dry with a towel. Do not use harsh chemicals. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
· Inspect your collar daily especially if your dog pulls and for your dog's safety do not use if there is any sign of wear and tear. Do not allow your dog to chew any of our products. We are not responsible for any loss or damage while your dog wears our products.
MARTINGALES & WEBBING LEADS:
· Don’t worry if your collar feels stiff to start with - it will soften up with use.
· After exposure to salt water, remove the collar & rinse thoroughly under fresh running water & pat dry. Failure to do so may cause the metal parts to rust
· For a general clean, hand wash in warm water with a little mild soap or detergent, then rinse well. Dry metal parts then lay flat to air dry.
· Do not allow your dog to chew the items.
CLEANING SOLID BRASS ID TAGS:
The colour of solid brass will; change over time and with exposure to weather and especially sea water. We love the aged look but if you like it shiny, feel free to give it a buff and polish (we use 0000 grade wire wool) to bring back the shine.
COATS & BLANKET SETTLE MATS:
· After a wet walk, hang in a warm place to dry and then brush off any mud.
· It’s best not to wash the kit excessively as this can damage the water repellent qualities, but if you have to wash it please:
Brush off any mud
Do up the Velcro on coats to avoid snagging.
Wash in the machine on a short, gentle 30 degree (or lower) cycle - IMPORTANT: Use a detergent designed for waterproof fabrics such as Nikwax – DO NOT use standard laundry detergent as this will strip the waterproof fabrics.
Allow to air dry - do not tumble dry.
FLEECE SNOODS & EARWARMERS
· When wet, please lie flat and allow to air dry
· Wash by hand in warm water with a mild detergent
· Please avoid using fabric softener as this may affect the water repellent qualities of fleece.
· Do not tumble dry.
